There’s something deeply satisfying about creating something with your own hands – especially when it’s for someone you love. My first resin and wood board made as a birthday gift for a very close family member. Crafted from rich English Elm and a striking green resin that shimmered like jade, the final piece felt almost too beautiful to use. But that didn’t stop us – we served the birthday cake on it that very evening. It was practical, personal, and proudly one-of-a-kind.
Now i’ve already made boards. I’ve got a table and a cheese board under my belt. The cheese board I previously made went for nearly £1200 at a charity auction! but this was something else specially for a valued family member.

Little did I know, that single act of gifting would spark a small wave of interest.
Not long after, a family friend saw the board and reached out, asking if I could make one for them too. That was all the encouragement I needed to dive into another design.
Each board takes careful planning: from selecting the right piece of wood with enough character, to pouring the resin just right, ensuring there are no bubbles or imperfections. It’s part art, part engineering – and every pour is different. I’ve come to love that unpredictability.
These boards are more than just serving platters. They’re conversation pieces. They’re heirlooms in the making. And for me, they’re a way to blend tradition with creativity, paying homage to both nature and design.
I’m already dreaming up the next one – perhaps with ocean blue resin, or even incorporating embedded keepsakes into the design.
If you’re thinking about making your own or want to commission one, I’d love to hear from you.
